Sometimes in life we come across someone who over time becomes someone you feel you know on the inside more deeply than most acquaintances. Perhaps that person also brought out the real "you" in casual conversations or by guiding you on your life path. Doreen Virtue is one such person that has touched my life and opened me up to what is real and who I am in this big thing called Life. Although we have never met, but hopefully we will soon enough, I feel I know her through reading a great deal of her books, listening to her guidance on tapes and watching her on television appearances where possible. For those who have never heard of her, Doreen Virtue is a spiritual doctor of psychology and a fourth-generation metaphysician who works with the angelic, elemental, and ascended-master realms in her writings and workshops. Doreen is the author of more than 20 books about angels, chakras, Crystal Children, Indigo Children, health and diet, and other mind-body-spirit issues, including the best-selling Healing with the Angels and Messages from Your Angels books/angel cards. I came across one of Doreen's books, Healing With the Angels, and from the moment I began reading it I felt as if I was sitting across the table from Doreen, carrying on a casual conversation but one that I was learning while enjoying at the same time. Some books use text that you need a dictionary to interpret or have some incredible spiritual awakening to understand, but Doreen wrote her book and subsequents books I've read for the average person to understand easily. I could learn who she was, her ups and downs in life, and actually see how "real" of a person she is. Although she has a Ph.D. and has authored a great many books and made numerous appearances, she still has gone through what a great many of us have. In doing so, she has become a role model for not only myself but also some friends of mine. After reading some of her books and getting an idea on who this "Lady who speaks to Angels" was all about, I bought some of her Oracle card decks. I already had an interest in tarot, but something about Oracle decks also intrigued me. I think the idea that they have more positive messages and are easier to interpret drew me to them, as well as the beautiful imagery each deck possessed. Over time, I've come to purchase or been given 8 of her decks and plan to obtain all of them in time. I also own a great many of her books and discuss them with friends and coworkers, and in doing so find myself taking on a role that one psychic told me I should do -- that of a spiritual teacher. I try to take the wisdom I've learned and carry it on to those yearning to know more about the Angelic Kingdom as well as the Goddesses and what Nature holds for all. Although I have not seen any of the Angels around me, I have felt them from time and time and rely on my own Faith that they are always here if ever I have need of them. I also ask for them to be with others when they are in need of some spiritual assistance. I owe doing this to listening to the wisdom Doreen Virtue brings in her connection with the Angels and Goddesses. At times I think Doreen Virtue is an "Angel on Earth" that opens herself up to everyone with loving arms and gently takes you in her wings to help you find your own true life path.
